School Education Minister Archana Chitnis today said in the Assembly today that those candidates who are gurujis and observers posted with Education Guarantee schools or observers and ‘Anudeshak’ in formal education centres who have qualified in the eligibility test are being appointed as contractual school teachers (Grade III) in the state.
Replying to Premnarayan Thakur (Bharatiya Janata Party) during the calling attention notice, Ms Chitnis said that 14,645 candidates qualified in the examination held on August 31, 2008.
She said that the State Government issued directives on the work of appointing the contractual teachers on the School Teachers (Grade III) category on October 5, 2009.
”As per government orders and the amended rules published in the Government Gazeteer on January 4, a clarification was issued related to observers and ‘Anudeshak’ in the formal education centres that the appointments made on March 31, 2000 or between March 31 to August 2000 for those having completed a year of service are eligible for the new appointment,” the Minister said.
Ms Chitnis said that the number of eligible candidates after the amendments was made in the time frame of employment of candidates had gone up. The period of employment was also decided after seeking suggestions and on the basis of district-wise project completion dates.
On the basis of a government directive issued between June 16 and July 16 this year, the eligible guruijis, Anudeshak and observers were offered contractual appointment for school teacher (Grade III) and the same is being implemented, she added.
